How to pour your glow.
Every kit includes a printable recipe card, but here's the whole arc — six slow steps from a cold pellet to a lit candle.
Prepare your space
Clear a stable, heat-safe surface in a ventilated room. Lay out your mould, wick, thermometer and pouring jug. Keep water away from the wax and a lid or baking soda within reach.
Melt the beeswax
Warm the beeswax pellets gently in the pouring jug, watching the thermometer. Beeswax melts around 62–64°C — slow and steady, never boiling. An adult handles this step.
Set the wick
Centre the cotton wick in the mould and hold it upright. A little melted wax at the base anchors it. A straight, centred wick is the secret to an even burn.
Pour slowly
Pour the wax in one steady stream, leaving a small gap at the top. Pouring too fast traps air; slow is smooth. Add fragrance or colour at the temperature the recipe card specifies.
Set & cure
Let the candle cool undisturbed. A short cure (a few hours to overnight, by size) gives the cleanest finish. Resist the urge to move it while soft.
Trim & light
Ease it from the mould, trim the wick to about 5mm, and light your glow. Never leave it unattended — see our safety guidance before the first burn.
Working with molten wax and flame carries real risk of burns and fire. Read the full Safety Information before you start, and keep children supervised throughout.
