Refund & Return Policy

We want you to pour with confidence. Here's exactly when you can return a kit — and the rights that always stay yours.

1. Change-of-mind returns (14 days)

If you simply change your mind, you may return an item within 14 days of delivery for a refund of the item price, provided it is:

  • unused and in its original, unopened packaging; and
  • in resalable condition.

Return shipping for change-of-mind returns is paid by you. We refund once the item arrives and is checked.

2. What can't be returned for change of mind

For hygiene, safety and the made-to-order nature of some items, the following are not eligible for change-of-mind returns:

  • Opened wax pellets, fragrance oils or seal wax — once opened these cannot be resold for hygiene reasons.
  • Personalised or made-to-order items — custom moulds, engraved seals, printed name tags.

This exclusion applies only to change-of-mind returns. It does not apply to faulty or misdescribed goods (see below).

Your statutory rights always apply

Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986 (or equivalent consumer law where you live). If an item is faulty, not as described, or unsafe, you are entitled to a repair, replacement or refund — even if it has been opened — and we cover return costs in those cases.

3. Natural variation in handmade materials

Our kits use natural beeswax and other raw craft materials. Slight differences in colour, shade, scent strength and texture between batches are normal and are part of working with a natural product — they are not defects, and your finished candles will vary too. We photograph and describe our kits as accurately as we can; minor natural variation isn't grounds for a not-as-described claim.

4. Damaged or incorrect orders

If your order arrives damaged, broken in transit, or incorrect, contact us within 7 days of delivery with a photo. We'll arrange a replacement or refund at no cost to you.

5. How to start a return

Email support@roddenhoneyco.com with your order number and reason. We'll reply with return instructions. Please don't send items back before contacting us.

6. Refund timing

Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method (via Stripe or PayPal), in USD, typically within 5–10 business days of approval. Any currency conversion or bank fees on your side are outside our control.
